Become a member of the WCTR Society

The main way to take part in the Society activities is applying as individual member.

The membership is for a three-year period which goes from one World Conference on Transport Research to the following Conference. The next membership period will be from June 1^st 2010 till May 31^st 2013, including then the 12^th WCTRS which will be held on July 11-15, 2010 in Lisbon.

Current members are invited to update their personal details as input to the new on-line Directory. Members can also keep their information updated subsequently. Simply click on My Profile, make the necessary changes and validate them.

As in previous years, the normal way to renew membership will be to register for the Lisbon conference. The registration fee will be collected by the Local Organising Committee and forwarded to the Secretariat.

The Secretariat will then check the resulting membership list by the end of September 2010, and write to all past members who have not renewed inviting them to do so.

However, it has been recognised that some members may wish to renew their membership in advance of conference registration. We have therefore agreed to offer the opportunity to pre-register from now which will remain open until 31^st December 2009.

If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity to renew your membership early, please download and complete the application form below and return it to the WCTRS Secretariat. Once your payment has been received you will receive an electronic confirmation of your renewal.

Individual membership

1. Benefits of membership

Each individual member is entitled to:

receive the Newsletter of the WCTRS which will include information on the preparation, themes, and organization of the 12^th WCTR, on the activity of Special Interest Groups, on international scientific events which have been pointed out by WCTRS members, or on events in which the WCTRS will take part; and finally, which will include short papers on new themes or recent debates;
reduced registration fees for the Conference;
a reduced price for the Proceedings of the 6th (1992), 7th (1995), 8th (1998), 9th (2001) and 10th (2004) Conferences;
a reduced price for Transport Policy, the Journal of the WCTR Society;
be registered in the Directory of the Society, which will be widely distributed to international organizations and which will include the specific fields of research or expertise of each member;
participate in specific activities of the WCTRS such as SIGs.

2. Subscription conditions

Carefully fill in the individual application form you can get below. Please print it and return it to the Secretariat.
Individual membership fees are fixed by the Steering Committee.
Do not send any payment now: upon receipt of your application form, an invoice will be returned to you.
